Slippery Jack is distinctive buttery mushroom having a purple-tinged membranous collar on the stalk and a sticky, slimy reddish brown cap.

Dried Slippery Jack mushroom can enhance the taste of soups and sauces. It is prized in many cuisines of the world for its aroma which can only be containted when the mushroom is dried - no other processed or frozen mushroom product can come close.

Mushrooms are an excellent, natural part of a healthy diet. Dried mushrooms contain around 20% protein and are also high in riboflavin. They are free of fat, sodium and cholesterol, low in calories while being a good source of niacin (vitamin B3) and pantothenate (vitamin B5).
